This is the exciting challenge that I have been working on recently. It’s a reading challenge with a twist!
I am always talking and writing about how reading and sport go REALLY well together. So I decided to create a challenge that brings my two favourite things together.
I have created a FREE downloadable sheet, its linked below, which you can print off, where I have created a week’s worth of fun sporting challenges followed by reading challenges.
In a nutshell, it’s 15-30 minutes of a sporting activity followed by 15-30 minutes of reading each day.
You control how much you will read. Maybe you think you can read a book in a week, maybe you will set yourself a challenge of reading 2/3/4 chapters in a week. It’s up to YOU! Challenge yourself, have fun!
From week 2 onwards, it’s over to you. I want to see what brilliant creative fun sporting activities that you come up with.
When the four weeks are done, I would love you to send me your completed challenge sheet.
I’ll be posting updates of my own challenges a few times every week and I would love to be tagged in your challenge if your parents are ok with that. No pressure at all to do this!
Everyone who sends in their completed challenge, either by email or message on social media, will go into a competition to win a FULL set of ALL my books, the four Izzy books and Twin Power : Throw In.
Don’t forget that you can borrow loads of books absolutely FREE in your local library.
Psst, Ireland Reads is on 25th February. Ireland Reads is an initiative of the government of Ireland, funded by Healthy Ireland and supported by public libraries, and many organisations that promote literacy and the arts. On February 25th they are inviting people of all ages to get reading.
One minute, ten minutes, an hour, or more – it doesn’t matter how long you read for or what you read.
So with our challenge starting at the very end of January, we are all getting into our reading strides in plenty of time and will be flying it with our sports and reading in time for Ireland Reads πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘
This is all about having fun!
Reading is fun!
Sport is fun!
I’m so excited to see what happens when we put the two together and challenge each other for four weeks.
