Update from Emma
This week was to be the week where I launched “Izzy’s Magical Soccer Adventure”, the fourth book in my “Izzy’s Magical Adventures in Sport” series.
I am unbelievably excited about this fourth Izzy book.
I had just, last Friday, submitted the first draft of the sequel to Twin Power for O’Brien Press so my mind had been freed up for marketing and publicity for Izzy. That was the plan.
However, the past few two weeks have been a rollercoaster. Starting with a projectile puke by a child in the car, continuing with more minor inconveniences such as our car breaking down and then a more serious inconvenience of a broken collar bone for one of the kids and some medical issues myself, and then, the big one, our beloved older dog, Max, passed away unexpectedly, on Sunday night.
Max was 13, almost 14, and has been a loyal, loving, permanent fixture in our lives for so long. He was part of the family and right now, I can’t write a whole lot more. As our youngest said yesterday, “sometimes I can’t talk about Max dying Mom”. I know my boy, I can’t either.
We adored him, end of. We are lucky to have Kerry, our 18-month-old collie mix, a crazy, fun-loving dog who is also wondering where her big brother is gone.
So enough of the doom and gloom for now. Anyone who knows me knows that I am a person who doesn’t do drama. I like to live life on an even keel, going to work, going to my kids’ sports, writing, running, reading, chatting to friends, and family time. These are the things that make me happy. This level of drama in life doesn’t suit me but I also know that these are all things that are very surmountable compared to what some people are going through right now. We will be grand as they say.
I will slowly come around over the next while and do my publicity stuff for “Izzy’s Magical Soccer Adventure”. I am proud of this new Izzy story, I think my writing improves with every book. I hope that all the wonderful Izzy fans will enjoy it and I owe it to them to give it my best shot at publicising it. The FAI have a copy of my book and I am delighted to be in contact with them about it. I hope that it can bring even more publicity to the brilliant Women’s National team, especially with their crucial world cup qualifier playoff just around the corner.
Over the next few weeks, I will launch a Christmas social media campaign around all my books. I am in the process of contacting all my Izzy stockists regarding Christmas sales. If you are a bookshop that would like to stock the Izzy books, I would love to hear from you on [email protected].
To explain, “Twin Power: Throw In” is published by O’Brien Press so is readily available in bookshops and online all over the country, as O’Brien Press have a huge distribution network. I publish the Izzy series myself. I sell the Izzy books online on my own website and, in many bookshops, nationwide, but I have to work myself to build these relationships with stockists, all of whom I am delighted to be working with.
All the Izzy books including “Izzy’s Magical Soccer Adventure” are available on https://emmalarkinbooks.com/

now.

Gift box options will be updated towards the middle of October.
Thank you for your time in reading this. I will write more about Max when the words come.
